And completely unrelated; we went and looked at the puppies last thursday finally. So adorable :D
My mum took some pictures so if I can get her to send them over I’ll post them C:
So I’m experimenting with making Shiye more muscular and sturdy. It’s been bugging me to no end that Shiye’s body type has been way too similar to two other female characters, and while the doe characters all have their unique body types - except Shiye really - most were on the slim side.
The bull characters on the other hand have two light-weight (one very androgynous and the other tall and muscular), and two heavy types (one more compact and square, the other more long-lenged and front-heavy).
So after some thought I felt Shiye would actually fit really well in a heftier body. She has a pretty tomboyish personality and I can totally imagine her hanging with and playfighting with the guys :p
So, I think I’m pretty satisfied with the lady cast now as well. We’ve got Kek and Aela who’s very feminine, though the former is much curvier and the latter slimmer. Zeph has that superthin, grey-hound-ish bodytype while Maya is small/short, chubby and big hindquarters.
And Shiye is somewhere in between the male and female characters. My main inspiration was actually draft horse crosses; light and athletic but still strong and thick-boned.
I just did something that I don’t think I’ve ever really done before.
I made the tough decision to cut out a very big and good scene ;n;
But I also realized this scene can easily be reused in a later book in the series, so It actually feel good to have done this, and I think the current book will get so much better thanks to it.
Actually, I came to the realization earlier this week that I’ve made my scene list too long. I totally didn’t think about the fact that not only am I writing a comic book - which takes much much longer to make than the equivalent length text novel - and I’m also planning to have 8 more books of similar size after this one. So yeah.
I’ve been forced to do the incredibly hard thing of being a bit realistic and cutting down the scene list. It sounds so silly writing it now but goddamnit as a writer, cutting out scenes from your book it’s like stabbing your baby D:
Even worse is I know this is for the better, I did add a lot of unnecessary fluff and stuff, and like I can’t take 10 fucking years to make each book with a series of 9.
And I’ve only gone through one chapter so far. I’m just gonna cry forever after I’m done slashing and tearing apart the rest ;n; My poor little baby ;n;
Congratulations denmark! :D
I’ve gotta say, this year’s eurovision had an unusual amount of good songs (looks like the europop and schlager is finally dying out :p). My favourite was Netherlands by far, so-so amazing. Also liked norway and iceland a lot, and denmark was pretty neat too C:
(About died laughing at their intermissions, and Petra’s singing number oh my god. That, folks, is a complete guide to understanding swedish culture :’D)
Four eohrosa cubs of different colors.
I made this for the PE website I’ve been working on, although it turned out to be great practice for trying out a sketchier lineart style and cell-shading.
I’m so unused to this haha, but I really wanna find a style that’s a little faster and looser to do for the comic, without it looking unfinished :p
Teehee :D
Also just so you know, I own a special friesian plush that I ordered all the way from USA.
One of these: http://www.customdesignart.com/freddy_the_friesian.html
That’s how big of a friesian fan I am.
But you know something that’s so fucking awesome!?
There’s some people not too far away from me that owns a couple of friesians. Real live friesians you guys.
My mum and I drove past their pasture once and stopped and looked at them and they came over to us and I even got to pet one a little on the nose. Sweetest horses ever. And so beautiful oh my god ;n; So-so beautiful.
I was totally starstruck C:
There’s a whole documentary all about friesians horses oh god.
Look! http://www.friesians-themovie.com/
I need this so badly, friesians are like my one biggest weakness ;n;
